Our School St. Josephs GNS is situated in the town of Mountmellick, County Laois in Ireland. We are a Roman Catholic school and cater for primary school girls. We a currently a DEIS school. There are currently 136 girls enrolled for 2018 in our school. There are 20 members of staff in our school, we have 11 Classroom teachers , 3.5 SEN teachers, a HSCL co-ordinator and an administrative principal. We also have three special needs assistants.
We provide a huge variety of activities, among them, Gaelic Football, Camogie, Athletics, Cycling, swimming, harp, choir, debating and much more! The school proudly boasts nine Green Flags.
School begins at 9:00 am and finishes at 1:45 for Infants and 2:45 for the rest of the school. We have two breaks in the day at 10:45 for 15 minutes and 12:30 for half an hour. We operate a healthy lunches policy in the school and are lucky to have our lunches provided under the Schools Meal plan.
